OUR STORY

 MODERN LOVE…..A COLLABORATION.

Illustrator Sarah Arnett and fashion director Kim Hunt, both with a passion for artistic individual clothing and style. Modern Love is ease with a sideways kick, familiarity turned on its head. Bold original prints, statements of our times whilst acknowledging the all important  past.  In colours that radiate and inspire. Women designing for women can only produce shapes that embrace and enhance, clothes that we love to wear.

SARAH ARNETT

Sarah Arnett is an illustrator & designer. Graduating from the University of Brighton, Sarah originally trained in woven textiles. Her career so far has seen her create a range of beautiful print dresses, illustrations, wallpaper and interior textiles.

As a child growing up in Africa Sarah influences are from the wide-open spaces and plant life gave her a love of colour and an eye for composition. Mix this with teenage years spent collecting vintage cloth, furniture and travelling, and you have an idea of what has influenced her style. Sarah Arnett’s beautiful work is renowned for its colourful nature-inspired prints. Her love of gardening and botanical gardens is key to her work, mixed with a fascination for photography, cinema and travel, all of which influence and contribute to her distinctive, signature designs.

Studying and interpreting flowers and foliage are the starting point of her projects. Throughout her work there are recurring themes of tree motifs, abstract patterns inspired by tropical plants and landscapes with deep and vibrant colour ways; a real visual treat. Sarah’s illustrations develop from a sketch book of drawings, photographs and colour washes which are then digitally illustrated.

Sarah was recently commissioned by Dior Perfumes to create an illustration influenced by Rene Gruau, and to show as part of Dior Illustrated: René Gruau and the Line of Beauty.
